Icons n/a or corrupted after software installation

After installing certain programs, Adobe Photoshop CS2 for example, the icon that appears under All Programs are not those of the program's but are replaced with generic shortcut icons. Although I attempted to change it manually via the shortcut properties, I couldn't get to it as a dialog pops up saying 'Unable to save changes to <shortcut>.lnk . Access is denied'. Any way around this problem?

I get this also, you should still be take to the option to navigate to :\Program File\Adobe\Photoshop and select the Photoshop CS 2 executable. -- -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta

Hmm... sounds like a bug. Try deleting the shortcut if possible and replacing it with a real one, or logging in as the Adminstrator and changing them manually. There's a guide here how to do this: http://www.vistabase.co.uk/welcome.php?subcats/security/localadminlogin
